Realtime API
Voice agents that keep up with conversation.
The Realtime API powers speech to speech agents that listen, think and reply with the timing of a human conversation, on the phone or in your product. We design and build voice agents with the guardrails and the human handoff done properly, because voice is where AI meets your customers directly.

In plain terms
Nobody has ever enjoyed pressing one.
Voice agents replace menu trees with conversation. Here is what changes.
Without it
- Callers navigating menus built in another decade
- After hours callers reaching voicemail nobody checks
- Simple questions consuming skilled staff time
- Web visitors bouncing rather than typing into a form
With it
- A natural conversation that handles interruptions
- Twenty four seven answers for the routine calls
- Staff handling the calls that genuinely need them
- A voice agent that hands to a human the moment it should
What CG TECH can do with the Realtime API
The work, broken into the parts that matter.
Conversation, not dictation
Native realtime models listen and speak directly, handle interruptions and keep latency low enough that the exchange feels like talking, not transcribing.

Voice where your customers already are
Telephony integration puts agents on your phone lines, and the same capability embeds in your website or app, sharing one set of logic and guardrails.

An agent that knows its limits
Scoped topics, monitored conversations and instant escalation to a person, because the fastest way to lose trust is a voice agent that bluffs.

Questions we hear a lot
Common questions about the Realtime API
What is the OpenAI Realtime API?
The Realtime API powers speech to speech agents that listen, think and reply at the pace of a normal conversation, either over the phone or inside your own product. The difference from older voice systems is the timing: there is no long pause while it transcribes, thinks and then speaks.
Will callers know it is AI?
Yes, because we tell them. Disclosure is good practice and callers respond well when the agent is fast, useful and honest about what it is.
Can it hand over to a real person?
Immediately, and it should. Escalation paths are part of the design, with context passed along so the caller never repeats themselves.
What about accents and languages?
The models handle a wide range of accents and languages well, and we test against your actual caller base during the pilot rather than assuming.
What does a voice agent cost to run?
Usage based audio pricing, driven by call volume and length. We model it against your current cost per call, which is usually the more confronting number.
What do Australian businesses use voice agents for?
After hours enquiries, booking and rescheduling, order status, triage before a human picks up, and outbound reminders. The good use cases are high volume and repetitive, where the alternative is a caller waiting on hold or leaving a message.
What should a voice agent never do?
Handle a distressed caller, make a decision about someone’s money or care, or pretend to be a person. We design the handover points before we design the conversation, because the exception path is what people judge you on.
How do we stop it saying something wrong?
Narrow scope, approved content and a hard limit on what it will discuss. A voice agent that answers anything will eventually answer something badly, and unlike a chat window there is no chance to read it before it is heard.
