What is a Perplexity Space?
A Space is a shared research hub that combines your uploaded documents with live web search under one set of instructions. Ask a question and the answer draws on your files and the current web at once, with citations to both.
What belongs in a Space?
The documents a workflow actually reuses: past bids, briefs, reports and reference packs, plus instructions on how answers should read. Focus beats volume, and we help you make that cut.
How is this different from Claude Projects?
Same shape, different strength. Projects excel at drafting and analysis over your documents; Spaces excel when answers must combine your files with live, cited web research. Many teams run both, each where it is strongest.
Is our uploaded content protected?
On Enterprise plans, company data including Space content is never used for training, and sharing is controlled by permissions. We set the boundaries as part of the rollout.
Who keeps Spaces current?
Named owners, or they decay. Stale files quietly produce stale answers, so we set a simple review rhythm as part of every Space we design.
How many Spaces should we set up?
Fewer than you might think. One per real workflow, each with a clear owner and a clear question it exists to answer. Spaces with no owner turn into dumping grounds and people stop trusting them.
What instructions should a Space carry?
Tell it who is asking, what a good answer looks like, and what to leave out. A Space for bid writing might be told to answer in plain English, always name the source document, and say plainly when something is not in the uploaded files.
Who can see a Space?
You decide when you create it. A Space can stay private to you, be shared with named colleagues, or be opened more widely. We set the default during rollout so nothing is shared by accident.
