ECH: Making Employee Recognition Easier with Power Platform

ECH wanted to strengthen its culture of appreciation. We built the ME Awards on the Power Platform so recognition is easy to give and simple to run.

Why it mattered

The existing awards process relied heavily on manual administration and lacked transparency. Managing nominations, voting, notifications and publishing results took significant coordination, and the experience needed to work just as well for mobile employees as for office-based staff.

ECH needed a solution that would simplify the process behind the scenes while making participation easier for employees.

What we did

We created the ME Awards solution using Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint and Teams, bringing the awards process into a simple, connected experience.

• Created an easy nomination experience, with a mobile-friendly Power App and automatic staff and department details.
• Automated communications, notifying nominees, managers and nominators at the right points in the process.
• Digitised quarterly and annual voting, with secure, role-based access and configurable voting periods.
• Automated reminders and administration, helping keep voting moving and supporting situations such as tie-breaks.
• Created an admin dashboard, allowing the ECH team to manage nominations, update information and oversee the awards process.
• Connected awards with SharePoint News, making it easier to publish and celebrate results internally.
• Made the solution accessible through Microsoft Teams, supporting employees across desktop and mobile.
• Built in security and audit controls, supported by training and documentation so ECH could manage the solution internally.
