Staff were losing time hunting for documents in a dated intranet. We built one that puts the right content in front of them.

Why it mattered

An engineering consultancy runs on its reference material: design tools, product brochures and quality assurance documentation. When that content is hard to find, engineers either work from memory or rebuild something that already exists. Neither is good for consistency, and QA content in particular needs to be the current version every time.

What we did

• Built the intranet around three areas. Software, product brochures and quality assurance documentation, matching how staff actually think about their work.
• Designed a working home page. Highlighted training videos, important links, and recently updated and popular documents.
• Built tailored search. Check-list filters for file types, design tools, product information and QA content, so a recording and a document can be told apart.
• Applied a bespoke security model. Access shaped to the firm rather than SharePoint defaults.
• Branded it properly. Custom styling aligned to their corporate identity.
