Retirement Living Operator: Communications Hub
A dated intranet made policies hard to find and slowed communication across the organisation.

This client is one of the country's largest privately owned retirement living operators, running dozens of villages across several Australian states.
The challenge
The intranet no longer supported how teams worked, so collaboration and productivity suffered across the organisation.
What we did
We designed and built a new Communications Hub on SharePoint Online, branded and secured for the way they work.
We replaced a dated intranet with a Communications Hub their teams actually use.
Why it mattered
The intranet no longer matched how the organisation worked. Policies, procedures and templates were hard to find, communication was slower than it should be, and the platform gave nothing back in the way of collaboration. Across dozens of villages and hundreds of staff, small daily frictions add up to real lost time.
What we did
- Built the Communications Hub on SharePoint Online. A new front door with Home, Document Library, Key Contacts, Business Units and a Content Hub.
- Made the home page useful. A communication feed, quick links, most used documents, new documents and application links in one view.
- Centralised policies and templates. A Document Library landing page with a search bar and refiners for each business unit.
- Pulled contacts from Entra ID. The Key Contacts section stays current on its own rather than ageing quietly.
- Integrated the COVID-19 hub. Critical information kept alongside everything else rather than off to one side.
- Applied a global menu and security model. Consistent navigation with permissions designed for the organisation.
The difference it made
- Policies, procedures and templates findable in one place with search that works.
- Contacts that stay accurate without anyone maintaining a list.
- Better internal communication across business units and villages.
- A foundation ready for push notifications, email alerts and a dynamic org chart when they want them.
