State and federal government

One trusted version of the numbers

We build governed data platforms for government agencies on Microsoft Fabric. Reporting that executives can rely on, with security, retention and auditability designed in.

Why it matters

Decisions deserve better than duelling spreadsheets

Agencies hold rich operational data, but it often lives in systems shaped by data entry rather than decisions. Every report becomes an expedition, and every meeting starts with working out whose numbers are right.

A governed data platform settles the argument. Data is drawn from source systems into one managed place, business rules are applied once, and reports draw from the same curated views, so the conversation moves to what the numbers mean.

  • One agreed set of numbers across teams
  • History preserved, so the past stays checkable
  • Security and retention obligations designed in

Examples of our work

What good looks like in government

Two real projects for Australian public sector organisations.

State Ombudsman

Governance and Fabric

The Ombudsman needed to move data management to the cloud while meeting state requirements on security, retention and destruction.

We developed governance policy aligned to state requirements, ran a security gap analysis, stood up a Microsoft Fabric workspace and mapped the path to Purview for classification and data loss prevention.

Outcomes

  • Governance aligned to state requirements
  • Security gaps found before migration
  • A scalable Fabric foundation

Commonwealth Govt financier

Microsoft Fabric platform

Their Dynamics 365 environment held more than 650 tables of project, loan and portfolio data, and every report meant rebuilding logic by hand.

We built a Microsoft Fabric platform that stages the data from raw to reporting-ready, preserves record history, and feeds Power BI dashboards covering the whole investment pipeline.

Outcomes

  • One dependable investment picture
  • History preserved as records change
  • Automated from source to screen
Trust and governance

Safe by design

Government data carries obligations: security, privacy, retention, audit. We build platforms where those are properties of the design, provable on request.

Controls we build in

  • Security reviewed before migration
  • Retention and destruction rules honoured
  • Access scoped by role
  • Automated identities, not personal accounts
  • As-built documentation handed over
Common questions

Questions we hear most

What does a governed data platform give an agency?

One managed place where data lands, is cleaned, and becomes agreed reporting views. Reports stop contradicting each other because the rules are applied once, centrally.

Can you work with our CRM or case system data?

Yes. For a Commonwealth Government financier we turned more than 650 Dynamics 365 tables into a governed reporting platform without changing how staff use the CRM.

We need to see how things looked at earlier points in time. Is that possible?

Yes, if the platform is designed for it. We preserve record history as versions, so you can examine a pipeline or portfolio as it stood, not just as it is today.

How do you handle security and retention requirements?

They shape the design. For the a state ombudsman we developed governance policy aligned to state requirements and ran a security gap analysis before any data moved.

Who runs it after handover?

Your team, with our documentation and training. Deployment pipelines and automation are set up so changes move safely from development to production.

Where should we start?

With the report your executive relies on most. We build the platform beneath that first, prove it, then extend.

Can it show who saw what?

Yes. Access is controlled and logged, which for most agencies matters as much as the numbers themselves. We design that in rather than adding it afterwards.

What if different areas define the same measure differently?

That has to be settled by the business before it is built, or the platform will reproduce the disagreement faster. Getting the definitions agreed is often the most valuable part of the work.

Ready when you are

Settle whose numbers are right

Bring the report that gets rebuilt before every meeting. We will show you what it looks like arriving already agreed.
