Regional Council

This client is a regional local government in Central Queensland, delivering community services and infrastructure to its residents.

The challenge

Power Platform and Microsoft 365 had grown across seven environments with little governance.

What we did

We reviewed the whole setup and supported the changes to tighten security and control.

Apps and flows had spread across seven environments faster than anyone could govern them. We reviewed the lot and helped put it right.

Why it mattered

The Power Platform had been adopted enthusiastically, which is usually a good sign. The problem was scale without structure: seven environments, around 1,400 flow runs a month and more than 200 app launches a month, with misconfigurations and security gaps accumulating underneath. For a council holding resident data, that is a governance problem as much as a technical one.

What we did

  • Assessed both platforms. Power Platform alongside Office 365 and Entra ID, rather than treating them separately.
  • Documented what good looks like. Best practice recommendations across security, governance, training and efficiency.
  • Planned the remediation. An implementation plan the council could actually resource.
  • Stayed hands-on. Ongoing support through the work rather than a report and a handshake.

The difference it made

  • Stronger data and system security across both platforms.
  • Streamlined configuration, so the environments are cheaper and simpler to run.
  • Governance that keeps pace as staff keep building.
  • Staff supported with training, so new apps start on the right footing.
