What is Perplexity?
Perplexity is a research tool that answers a question with current information and shows the sources it used. Instead of a page of links to sift through, you get an answer you can check. We design and build it into research workflows and products where cited, up to date information matters.
How is Perplexity different from ChatGPT or Copilot?
Perplexity is search first. It reads the live web and answers with citations, where general assistants lean on training data and your documents. Different tool, different job.
Is our data used for training?
On Enterprise plans and the Sonar API your data is never used for training. Consumer plans offer an opt out. We set this up correctly during rollout.
What is the Sonar API good for?
Putting cited, current web answers inside your own products and internal tools: research assistants, market monitors and knowledge bases that never go stale.
Do we need Enterprise Pro, or are individual Pro seats enough?
Once you need SSO, admin controls or shared Spaces under governance, Enterprise Pro is the answer. Below that threshold, Pro seats often do the job. We confirm during discovery.
Which Perplexity product should we look at first?
Most teams start with Pro seats for the people who research every day, then add Enterprise Pro when it needs governing across the business. Spaces suit a shared research area, Comet suits browser heavy work, and the Sonar API is for putting cited answers inside your own software.
What size organisation do you work with?
Our sweet spot is 50 to 500 seats. That is big enough for research quality and licence spend to matter, and small enough that a rollout can be done properly in weeks rather than quarters.
What does a rollout involve?
We start by finding the roles where research is a daily task, then set the licence mix, sign on and admin controls to match. After that it is short, practical training using real questions from your own work, and a check back once people have used it for a few weeks.
